Throughout this year, we significantly expanded the documented API surface - adding full coverage for Brand Guidelines (CXUC), new Metaproperties and Options management endpoints, Automation endpoints, and extended analytics tracking. We also resolved a number of long-standing accuracy issues across upload, OAuth, and webhook documentation.

September

• Added the Bynder MCP server to the documentation, allowing you to use the Bynder API reference directly with AI coding assistants.
• Updated Create Metaproperty Option to document that when name and label differ, Bynder automatically assigns name as the externalReference. Setting externalReference to null or an empty string will not prevent this.

August

• Added POST /api/v1/asset/assets/{assetId}/relations/{relationId} and DELETE /api/v1/asset/assets/{assetId}/relations/{relationId} endpoints for managing asset relations, now documented under Asset enrichment.
• Updated Modify MP Options to clarify that options are appended to the asset's existing option set, not replaced.
• Removed the checkForDuplicates query parameter from Create Option - this parameter is no longer supported.
• Added instructions for adding and removing custom thumbnails via customThumbnailFileId and removeCustomThumbnail to Modify Asset.
• Removed the non-functional "Retrieve Webhook Configuration" endpoint from the Webhooks section.
• Corrected the chunk upload S3 endpoint URL in Upload File in Chunks - the endpoint is https://bynder-public-us-east-1.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com/ and does not include your portal domain.

• Added full API reference for the Brand Guidelines (CXUC) API (/api/1/cxuc/), covering guidelines, groups, pages, and sections.
• Added new analytics endpoints to Asset Usage V2: Asset Downloads, Asset Removes, Asset Archives, Asset Deletions, User Logins, and User Creations.
• Corrected Upload Asset Step 3B - upload_id must be passed as a form field named id, not as a path segment in the URL.
• Corrected brandId in Save as New Asset - this is a required field, not optional.
• Added missing parameters to Register Upload Chunk.
• Updated Public Groups API documentation.

• Removed the metaproperty field from the Options API v1 response - this field is no longer returned.

• Fixed an incorrect POST URL in Workflow Upload documentation.
• Moved Similarity Search (/api/1/assets/similarity-search/) out of the Brands section into its own dedicated section, and updated the documentation.

• Corrected Create Webhook Subscription - the endpoint path should not include /{id}. The correct path is https://{your-bynder-domain}/v7/webhooks/public/api/subscriptions.
• Added the ReadMe MCP integration, allowing you to use the Bynder API reference with AI coding assistants directly from your IDE.

• Added GET /api/v4/brands/ endpoint for retrieving Brand IDs.
• Corrected OAuth token endpoint URLs in the Authentication section - the base path is https://{your-bynder-domain}/v6/authentication/oauth2/token/....

• Added content access rights endpoints: GET/POST /api/content-access/options/{optionId} and GET/PUT /api/content-access/options/{optionId}/visibility.
